NAIGARA FALLS

Niagara Falls is a Canadian city of 83,184 (as of 2008) residents^[1] on the Niagara River in the Golden Horseshoe region of Southern Ontario. It lies across the river from Niagara Falls, New York, and was incorporated on June 12, 1903.

The city is dominated by Niagara Falls, a world famous set of two large waterfalls on the Niagara River and benefits from the fact that both falls, the American and Horseshoe, can be best seen from the Canadian side of the river, thus presenting the city one of the major tourist attractions of the world. The natural spectacle brings in millions of tourists yearly. The city permitted the development of a tourist area along the falls and the gorge. This area which stretches along the Niagara River parkway and tourist promenade is particularly concentrated at the brink of the falls and, apart from the natural attractions along the river, includes huge parking lots, souvenir shops, observation towers, high-rise-hotels, casinos and theatres, mostly with colourful neon billboards and advertisements. Further to the north or south there are golf courses alongside historic sites from the War of 1812.

History

The Niagara Falls area has seen continuous settlement since the 17th century, first by the Iroquois and then by Europeans who were drawn to the immense falls. Louis Hennepin, a French priest, is regarded as the first European to visit the area in the 1670s.

Tourism started in the early 19th century and has been a vital part of the local economy since that time. As well as the obvious attractions of the falls, Niagara Falls markets itself as a honeymoon destination and is self-proclaimed as the honeymoon capital of the world. In 1953, Marilyn Monroe filmed Niagara (1953 film), a major event for the city.

In 1963, the city absorbed the surrounding Stamford Township, resulting in a doubling of population.

With the creation of a Niagara regional government in 1970, the city amalgamated with the village of Chippawa, Willoughby Township and part of Crowland Township, creating the present-day municipal boundaries.

The City's Official Historian is Sherman Zavitz, who gives regular radio broadcasts on many aspects of Niagara's history

MANGOES !!!!

Mangoes belong to the genus Mangifera, consisting of numerous species of tropical fruiting trees in the flowering plant family Anacardiaceae. The mango is indigenous to the Indian Subcontinent Cultivated in many tropical regions and distributed widely in the world, mango is one of the most extensively exploited fruits for food, juice, flavor, fragrance and color, making it a common ingredient in new functional foods often called superfruits. Its leaves are ritually used as floral decorations at weddings and religious ceremonies. It is also the national fruit of India.

'Mango' comes from Portuguese manga, which is probably from Malayalam manga. The origin of the -o ending is unclear. The first recorded attestation of the word in a European language is in the following passage (in Italian) referring to Kozhikode: "Se troua quiui anchora unaltro fructo che se chiama Amba, el pede suo se chiama Manga." Its first recorded occurrence in certain languages, for instance post-classical Latin , and French , (both as manga), appears to be in translations of this text. The relevant passage was not translated into English but may have had an indirect influence.

Mango trees (Mangifera indica L.) reach 35-40 m in height, with a crown radius of 10 m. The tree is long-lived with some specimens known to be over 300 years old and still fruiting. In deep soil the taproot descends to a depth of 20 ft, and the profuse, wide-spreading feeder roots also send down many anchor roots which penetrate for several feet. The leaves are evergreen, alternate, simple, 15-35 cm long and 6-16 cm broad; when the leaves are young they are orange-pink, rapidly changing to a dark glossy red, then dark green as they mature. The flowers are produced in terminal panicles 10-40 cm long; each flower is small and white with five petals 5-10 mm long, with a mild sweet odor suggestive of lily of the valley. The fruit takes from three to six months to ripen.
The ripe fruit is variable in size and color, and may be yellow, orange, red or green when ripe, depending on the cultivar. When ripe, the unpeeled fruit gives off a distinctive resinous sweet smell. In its center is a single flat oblong seed that can be fibrous or hairy on the surface, depending on the cultivar. Inside the seed coat 1-2 mm thick is a thin lining covering a single embryo, 4-7 cm long, 3-4 cm wide, and 1 cm thick.

dats really true.....luck is necessary very much necessary .........for example luk at ur very own RCB team ....they have such a gud captain , awesome team spirit...very gud players ( ryder, dravid ,KP, virat, etc )...but still see luck is not favouring them......they r not winning any match !!!!!!! SAD na...

HAD REAL FUN !!!!

well......at last away frm bangalore.........

means i went 2 ooty....4 a trip with my family....
on my way we had 2 go through d thick bandipur forests.........& guess wat i saw 2 beautiful peacocks..........wow....they wer lovely !!!!!!!
then entered d tamil nadu forest dat is d madumalai forest & saw a deer.......i dunno wich deer ......it had many branches .......lol !!!!!

then entered d ghaat section .....d horrible section........the turnings wer horrible......but later they wer fun..........

then at last reached ooty !!!!!!!

then left 4 sightseeing.....d first thing i saw was d ooty lake ........it was awesome...........splendid......& then went boating............boating was real fun !!!!!!!!!!!!

& then went 2 d botanical garden wich was amazing.....it was d mountain wich ahd 2 b climbed.............it was mind blowing !!!!!!!!!
d flowers rocked.........i bought so many flowers !!!!!!!!! i always buy flowers 4 myself.................(strange na )

then went 2 d best part ..............SHOPPING !!!!!! im a shopholic !!!!!!! i love shopping........& i love places wer u can shop !!!!!but d problem was i dint know tamil so i dint know how 2 ask d rates.....but still managed 2 buy millions of things !!!!! i just know kannada !!!

then it was night & had 2 go sleep !!!!!!!!!!

the next morning i got up at 7......quite shocking !!!!!!!!!1
i was really excited 2 go 2 coonoor in the chiayan chiayan train......i got d tickets & was really excited.......the train was awesome......the beauty was beautiful.......u could see the whole of ooty through d train....we wer on so much height !!!!!!!!!
then reached coonoor.....& went sightseeing in d taxi.......we went 2 lamb's rock mountain wer we had 2 treck !!!!!dat was scary !!!! & then went 2 sleeping lady mountain.....da twas awesome......
the whole of ooty was covered with fog !!!!!!!!

then went 2 so amny other palces like simps park........dolphin nose ........

we had 2 return back 2 ooty in the train......luckily i got a window seat & it was evn more fun 2 see d whole of ooty frm d train.......der wer so many tunnels !!!!!!!!1

then reached ooty.....after goin der,it started raining.......wow....the palce was worth seeing !!!!!!!!!

then simply freaked around !!!!!!!!!
then we went 2 this shooting place i dunno wat its called ...........the house in the movie hum aapke hain kaun ...........dat house.......we went der.....we saw dat..........dat house is really awesome.......i guess mansion is a better word !!!!!!!!!!

then d next day we had 2 leave coz i had tutions.........we left & came back d sam way !!!!!!!!!!

over all the trip was amzing........& i guess evryone needs a change !!!!!!!

The Royal Challengers Bid

For the first time in the history of cricket, players were put on auction in 2008. The action was hot and bidding frenzied as the team members (except for Rahul Dravid, who is the 'Icon Player') were successfully bid for in the auction. then after a few years another person called greg pope came & according to him new year would start from january 1 ........

at that time no one believed him that accordin to him that new year started from jan 1

so he decided who ever doesnt follow him [ means who ever doesnt believe that new year will start frm jan 1 ] he will call them april fool ......

so they started april fool 's day.......dat means it was done 4 insulting sum1.....so i guess we shouldn't be happy after fooling sum1 coz we r insulting themmmmmmm.............

AWESOME PLACE !!!!!!!

v went 2 this place called sarala birla academy .dats wer ritika stays .......me & raji went 2 this place, it was awesome.....very nice........it was like heaven on earth .........wen u enter d campus u have this place called the rock garden wer we sat & gossiped so much..............so much.........
& then u have the staff quarters wer ritika lives ........her house is really gud...& the boys hostel can b seen frm her house..............(ahem.......ahem....!!!!!)


then we saw the principal's house ........it was like a palace......(may b dats a hyperbole......)the we saw the sports room......it was like a huge bunglow & not a room.......der was a swimming pool.........4 sqyash courts ..........millions of cycles.......& a lot of play things !!!!!!!!!!

then der were 4 basket ball courts & 4 lawn tennis courts......3 football grounds ....1 cricket stadium.. .....a beautiful dining hall wer the guys have food..............


now lest cum 2 the main part......the skool...........
it was awesome.......the stairs wer so gud........der wer 4 floors........each of them decorated very beautifully........with a big poster of some gr8 person on the left & right side of the corridor !!!!!
the libarary was like a football stadium- it was so huge with miilions of books..........now the classrooms wer like ur bedrooms.....(may be the students fav. place......)each student had a separate bench & table........the music room had the whole worlds instruments....including a drum set !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in the staff room each teacher had a computer wich they could use............

over all the skool was mind blowing ..........& we guys ahd so much fun der !!!!!!!!!!!

EXAM FEVER !!!!

v r really lucky coz our exams got over & in the month of march v r enjoying........but actually not enjoying but dying with projects !!!!!! but its kinda better , its better 2 die with projects than study 4 exams ......i pity d other ppl dat their exams r goin on.......but u know wats d bad part of the whole thing .......its dat i have only one more year 4 skool lyf.......& next year at this time we will be dying with BOARD EXAM !!!!!!! i think bout it........its scary man.i dont wanna have board exams.......buit u know 2 go ahead in lyf u gotta rite board exam.........& if i wanna learn more bout chem i gotta give the board exam ........

CHEMISTRY .....

my fav. subject is chemistry...........i luv chem & my present chemistry teacher shez awesome.........she teaches very well, her name is prabaha maam.......i luv chemistry & its crazzy ness , even though i dont score well in chemistry i luv it . If u like a subject u need not score well in it.its only the hunger of the knowledge dat makes u like the subject !!!!!!!! so the same way i luv chem but i dont score well......i just have the hunger 2 learn more bout chemistry !!!!!!

SO MUCH FUN IN SKOOL ...

today i had so much fun in skool !!!!!!!!! i had a blast !!!!!!!!! but physics was ok.ok !!!!!!!! not dat gud...i messed up in the numericals .....in the geo period me , raji & ritika wer completing hindi homework .......wich we dint do...........& then in the hindi period we got blastings frm maam saying dat we guys gossip a lot !!!!!!!! & talk a lot !!!!!!!!! so we thought of buttering her.by goin 2 the staff room.....& telling her sorry ........wen we went she was really happy dat we had realised ur mistake....then in the chem period we laughed & cracked jokes......i dont remember the jokes so i cant blog them !!!!!!!! history period was taken by ur maths teacher........& we hated dat.......
then we had dat stupid project period wer i thought sum teacher will take it but no 1 took it.....it was like a free period & ppl could do anyhting they wanted .......the w saw ur class bonding........helping each other wich i dont think u guys can understand !!!!!!!!!!!
anyways overall it was fun !!!!!!!!

i dunno wats happening 2 my things 2day..evrythings goin wrong...........
first of all my orkut account......& then my blog ......then my facebook account..............
its like i dunno who created 2 accounts 4 me on orkut.......& my bloody blog wasnt working !!!!!!!!!!
god only knows wat had happened 2 them............
as i had told long ago dat google has gone 2 dogs !!!!!!!! dats really true...........orkut is also agoogle version & even blogger is a google version.........
anyways my blogs proper now..& dats how im blogging.........but my orkut account i think is gone.........

BADLY WANTED 2 BLOG !!!!!

it was like......today i suddenly got this idea of blogging.....& i wanted 2 start blogging........
i called up raji 2 ask her how do i do it....she was really busy & her mom was der so she couldnt tell.........
but as ppl say luck favours those who believe in it.........the same thing happend 2 me.......luckily sonshu was onlyn & i asked her how do i do it........she helped me...im really thankful 2 her........i know i know......this luks really formal but this is my first post so .u know a lil bit of buttering jisko hindi mein maska lagana kehte hain.........
